|  | These are more for convenience (or laziness in my case) than for energy saving. They're great for switching a lamp off downstairs when you're in bed, but they just don't last. More than half of them are now dead. I've bought several packs in the past, but I won't be buying any more unless the design is improved for extended longevity (and has a longer warranty to back it up).

| | I have 3 of these units and 2 of them have failed. They are both stuck in the on mode and won't turn off. I can hear them click when I press the button on the remote control but they don't actually switch on and off. I've had them for about a year or so. The energy taken to manufacture, market and distribute them will not offset the carbon I have saved from using them in that period of time. So, if this is a widespread problem then they are actually doing more harm than good!

| | | i found that using these plugs to be qick and easy way of making sure that everything is shut off and using very litte electricity and the seller is okay i can reccomend both
| | | Like others, two of my units have now failed - less than two years use. How green is that? More energy would have been used in making and retailing these than would have ever been saved in such a short working life. Buy something of better quality, it might cost more initially but will be better value all round in the long run.
